There is a beauty song of a Chilean compositor named Julio Numhauser, which talks about changes. This song come to my mind when I have to think in changes, because always is like that, in every sense. Precisely, he writes this song because our country was living a lot of changes in many senses, and he lived all it very closely. ‘All Changes’ (‘Todo Cambia’ in Spanish) was written in 80’decade, in a moment when social, politics and educational matters were in a deep revolution. Society was (and I think still) divided, in function of politic, were who was at favor and other that was against “government” of that time, so was a lot of revolutions for try to go back to democracy, people was all move, mainly young people, who would be the future of country, and didn’t want keep like that. Obviously, in the period of military regime, were changed a number of laws, and one of the most affected was educational legislation. But people just wished out of that regime (obviously were some exceptions), so the consequences are lived now, in present. 90’ decade was my era haha, I think the most of us was born in that time. There was a little “calm”, because we was leaving that season of military power, and people was trying get used at the new life. It became freedom for go out, for buy things, for think want you want and express it without fear. People could choose again who govern them, but, education maintain the form that had acquired from the past years, same that another matters. So actually, I see that’s the big problem. Now people (that, surprise, we are the principal actors!) is relatively accustomed to the idea of “freedom” and “democracy”, but see that some things like education, are topics where are not included! So, what happens? Was all a lie? Was a joke that we are free and what people want must to be respected? However, everything in life is that: a constant cyclic change, would be that we are starting a new era of changes? Just remains to wait that every change will be like in a stair: with every step we go up a little more.
